What is Reentry Court?
The District of Minnesota Reentry Court is a collaborative effort between the U.S. District Court, U.S. Attorney's Office, Federal Defender's Office, U.S. Probation Office, and community agencies. Reentry Court is an evidence-based practices program that provides participants with an alternative to traditional post-conviction supervision. The team approach uses incentives and sanctions for moderate to high-risk individuals successfully transition and remain in the community, complete supervision, and become a productive and law-abiding member of the community.
The District of Minnesota Reentry Court aims to reduce recidivism through innovative treatment programs and community partnerships.

Program Expectations
- Agree to supervision modification for enrollment in program
- 12-18 months to complete (approximate)
- Four phases to complete
- Attend bi-monthly and/or monthly court sessions
- Emphasis on honesty and accountability
- Continuously reside in a sober, stable environment
- Maintain legitimate employment
- Meet regularly with an assigned mentor/sponsor
- Commitment and illustration of honesty and self-accountability
- Adhere to other Court-ordered sanctions as directed
